8 June 2007 : Venus and a weak Jupiter

I received a new camera recently ALccd5, which is supposed to be a CMOS camera for planetary and lunar and for guiding purposes. Here are some early results with the colour version of the camera. I will get the black and white version later. I found that guiding with this camera will be rather difficult. It does not seem sensitive enough for me . The camera tends to "like" red colours ...

VENUS

I made a number of AVI sequences. Conditions in seeing were VERY poor. It has been very warm today and the heated air was still rising from the roofs.

Jupiter Experiment

Here Jupiter was just above the roofs in the south of here. Only very strong details are visible.
