I was playing some music all evening. After this I looked through the eMails just before going to bed. I read an Aurora warning, switched on the radio and found a strong aurora going on. I immediately looked outside and could see some greenish display in the North-West. It took me five minutes to get the camera ready, but the greenish colour had almost gone. I made a number of images with my new Nikkor 1:1,8G lens and the wide field zoom at ISO 1250.

I looked outside around 3.15 when I again saw some bright stripes. I rushed outside but the were short living too. The horizon to the North-East aleady began to brighten as the new day began.

Looking to the east - even there the sky is red. The bright "star" is planet Jupiter.
