January 2019 I made about 300 contacts in FT8 mode, 10 QSOs in JT65 and about 20 in CW all over the world. I could repair my Shortwave amplifier, which works well now for CW.

1296 MHz EME DL0SHF
18/19 January 2019 Remote control to DL0SHF is installed and working fine. I have been "in-the-air" or better "in-space" for about 3 hours and I have made 14 contacts via the moon with 12 stations. All done in CW or dual-mode SSB/CW. With the big dish antenna I was able to contact stations with rather a small system (i.e. 200w and 2,5m dish).

After a long absence from anything to do with moonbounce I took the chance to activate the big dish antenna at DL0SHF in Kiel which can operate on 1296 MHz. I had some free time on the 24 November and I drove over to Per DK7LJ. Everything ran perfectly and after 4 hours and some 36 contacts in CW I was tired and I drove home. I had fun with working a lot of guys I met on the radio via the moon years ago last time. Signals were strong and listening to all this was real fun. I only worked CW (morse code) and allthough there was a lot of "digital" activity I stayed with CW.
Years ago - when being younger - I was able to stay up a whole night for this... no not anymore ;-) But from time to time I hope to activate this big station a bring some fun to others as well.

Every year suddenly we have this CQ WorldWide contest on shortwave at the end of November and every year I try do make at least a few contacts. This year I wanted my amplifier with some 400 watts behind my transceiver, but for an unknown reason so far it refused to operate properly and I put it aside. The transceiver ran "barefoot" with 95 watts into my little dipole. From time to time I sat down at the desk and I made a few CW (morse) contacts. I came out with 127 QSOs with 52 countries in five continents. Only South America is missing. Alltogether not bad for my little station ...

After 15months of operation I took down the tower for a number of repairs and changes. This did take some days. Now the antenna is up again and everythings looking fine!
Things to be done:
- Cleaning the aluminium tower with high-pressure cleaner from green alga (done)
- Repair the hook of the 40m dipole (done)
- Fixing the coaxial lines where necessary (done)
- Make plugs on unused lines weatherproof (done)
- Install a new power supply line for the 50 MHz antenna preamplifier (done)

Things to come soon
- Eventually insert a longer antenna carrier tube on top (ordered)
- Move the 6m antenna up by 1.2m if a new carrier can be installed
- Install the weather satellite antenna on top incl. preamplifier, if possible
- Re-install the two meter antenna (no preamp available)
- Eventually re-install a 70cm antenna (check preamp before / (done))
- Remove the weather cam from its current position (done) and place it on the tower.
So, there is lot to be done

My Gridsquare (JO54) seems to be very rare - what is not bad at all ... But throughout the past months I received cards for QSOs mainly on 6m that I never made. Those envelopes are often filled with a good count of $$$. So I am very accurate with logging my radio contacts and those who have made a good contact and have sent me a QSL (with or without $$$) will receive one from me by mail for sure.
